Dr. Alweiss graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1984. He attended medical
school at Mount Sinai in New York City. After graduating from medical school in 1988, he
completed his internship at the Boston Veterans Administration Center in Boston. He then
returned to Mount Sinai for his Neurology residency from 1989-1992. Next, he completed an
EMG/Neuromuscular Fellowship at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center from 1992-1993.
Dr. Alweiss moved further north one more time and joined Bergen Neurology Consultants in
1993, where he has remained. He has been on staff at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center
since that time where he has served as the head of the Credentialing Committee and is currently
the Chief of Neurology. Dr. Alweiss has also maintained his affiliation with the Neurological
Institute at Columbia University by teaching medical students and residents each year.

Dr. Alweiss has consistently appeared as a Best Doctor in the Castle Connolly Guide and NJ
Monthly.

Dr. Alweiss sees general adult neurology patients, and his particular interests are nerve disorders
and lower back pain. He performs procedures including EMG's, therapeutic Botox injections,
and lumbar epidural injections.

He is married and lives in Bergen County with his wife and 2 children. His hobbies include
tennis, math and baking.
