Multiple Sclerosis
Multiple Sclerosis or MS is a not too
uncommon neurological disorder. It is most common in Caucasian
females, but may occur in any population. The frequency of the
disease is about 1 in 1000.
The disorder is hallmarked by recurrent
episodes of inflammation in the white matter of the brain, which, over
years may lead to accrued disability both physically and cognitively.
It is very important to diagnose this
condition early because several effective treatments are currently
available and several more are on the way.
Bergen Neurology Consultants maintains an
MS Center of excellence and we can provide a whole range of services from
diagnosis to treatment at our facility.
